Admissions FAQ's

  1. Is the school affiliated to a board?
    Our school is a Senior Secondary School, affiliated to the CBSE.
  2. What is the admission procedure?
    Parents are required to register their children for the appropriate class once we open registration. Admission lists are displayed in the first week of February.
  3. Can I apply online for admission of my child or do I need to visit school?
    Registration can be done online. Admission will be granted against vacancy. Parents/guardians are requested to visit the school at least once to finalise the admission procedures and to familiarise themselves with the school.
  4. Do you take in mid-term admissions?
    Mid-term admissions are taken only against vacancies.
  5. Do you have age limits for admissions to classes?
    We prefer a child to have completed five years at the time of applying for admission to Class I.
  6. Which documents are required for admission to your school?
    - Attested copy of the Birth Certificate
    - Transfer/School Leaving Certificate countersigned by appropriate authority 
    - Report Card of the last class cleared, countersigned by Head of Institution 
    - Two passport-size photographs of the child 
    - Proof of residence for mid-term admissions
  7. Do you have any preference for siblings?
    We have a small percentage of seats reserved for siblings, children of alumni and the school staff.
  8. When does the academic session commence?
    Our new academic session commences in the first week of April every year.
  9. What are the school timings?
    The school timings are from 8.00 a.m. - 2.15 p.m.
  10. What is the student teacher ratio?
    The student teacher ratio is 20:1; we have a maximum of 25 students in each section.
  11. Are there any hidden charges?
    The fee is as mentioned in the almanac/website. It is subject to change at the beginning of the academic session only. During mid-session, students may be asked to pay for school trips/excursions/drama-outfits etc.
  12. Can the school handle medical emergencies?
    The school has an infirmary with a full time nurse. Emergencies are handled by doctors at the nearest hospital.   
  13. Does the school have the requisite security in place?  
    Student security is of paramount importance to us. The school campus, gate,   corridors are under 24x7 CCTV surveillance. The school has registered security-guards at all school gates. The boundary walls are 10 feet in height and have been additionally fortified with barbed wire. Guests are allowed in only by appointment and checking of their ID proofs. 
  14. Is the school academic staff well qualified?
    All teachers are trained and have been appointed as per their educational qualification. We have regular in-service training and workshops to keep the academic staff in touch with modern trends in pedagogy.
  15. Can I visit the school and meet the staff?
    Parents/Guardians are welcome to visit the school. You are advised to take an appointment so that the teachers are free to meet with you.
  16. Do you have parent-teacher meetings?
    Parent-teacher meetings are regularly scheduled. Details are in the school almanac/school website. Please take an appointment if you need to meet the teachers on any other day.
  17. Does the school have its own buses?
    The school has its own fleet of buses and covers a large area. If your child does not fall within the school routes, please speak to the transport in-charge.
  18. Do you have a school canteen? What does it serve?
    We have a hygienic canteen that is overseen by the student council and the  staff. The menu is limited; the school does not allow junk food in the canteen.
  19. Do you have a uniform stockist in town?
    Uniforms can be purchased on campus.
  20. Does the school encourage extra reading? Is the library well stocked?
    The library is well-stocked for all age groups. In the junior school, reading is encouraged through recommendation.
  21. Which co-curricular activities does the school support?
    We have an extensive choice of co-curricular activities. Music, dance, art and games are compulsory for all students. Please visit our website for a list of  activities conducted in school.
  22. What do the students write with?
    From Class V onwards, students use gel pens.
  23. What is the school promotion policy?
    Students are not normally retained in the same grade.  If the student’s performance is not up to mark, parents are advised to take appropriate remedial measures to help the child attain the class level.
