An Ideal Student

The Future of Mankind
We do not always like to admit it, but we live in a world in which injustice, untruths, violence and evil are rampant. As humans, what we need more of is not power and wealth; we need people with exemplary character. Our students are the future citizens of this world, and we would like them to make every effort to abide by an ethical code and do their best to make this world a better place.

An Asset to Our Institution
Nobel Prize winning physicist, Carl David Anderson describes the ideal student as, “One who was not working for grades but was working because he was interested in the work and not trying to compete with other students.” Our ideal student is someone who is driven to understand and learn and maintain a healthy measure of intellectual curiosity. They also know that fortifying their minds alone is not enough and take care of their bodies too. Maintaining a balance between academics, extracurricular activities and sport is imperative to becoming an ideal student. They also go over and above what is simply required of them and this effort determines their distinction. Physically active and academically inclined, our ideal student is always respectful of teachers, parents, staff and other students. They are considerate and always willing to help others in a time of need.  In class, the ideal student is always attentive and cooperative; they will never disrupt a class and their participation can even enhance other students’ learning experiences. They exude enthusiasm, self-confidence and are motivated and energetic. The ideal student does well to recognise his/her strengths and talents and works on them to achieve success. They are disciplined and organised in their routine.

Hallmark of the Ideal Student
The ideal student is one who is good at everything. He/she is responsible, but knows how to have some fun as well. He/she has a lot of friends in school ? from the toppers to the pranksters of the class. Because of their cheerful and positive approach to life, they are generally liked by everyone. They are righteous and courageous enough to stand up for their ideals, even if they have to oppose their own friends. They are not deterred by failure and do not boast of their achievements. Other students and even teachers trust him/her because he/she assumes responsibility for their actions and do not make excuses. The ideal student always leads by example.
