Teacher Training Programs

Our Teacher Training Programs
The world is changing and is more uncertain than ever before. We believe innovation is the key factor in evolving to an integrated and learner-centred teaching pedagogy.

A teacher needs to be constantly evolving, upgrading, adapting, engaging, imagining, creating and learning modern techniques. These are key resources in a knowledge-driven economy and, as educators, we realise that we must take up the mantle and educate for tomorrow.

According to a UNESCO report published in 2005, teacher education, “addresses environmental, social and economic contexts to create locally relevant and culturally appropriate teacher education programs for both pre-service and in-service teachers.”

Teacher education generally includes four elements: improving the general educational background of the trainee teachers; increasing their knowledge and understanding of the subjects; pedagogy and understanding of children and learning; and the development of practical skills and competences.

National Curriculum Framework for Teacher Education
Under this directive, a teacher must become a facilitator of children’s learning in a manner that helps them to construct knowledge and meaning. At the same time, it is important for an educational institution to also provide possibilities for the teacher to participate in the construction of syllabi and teaching-learning materials. Such roles demand that teachers should be equipped with an adequate understanding of curriculum, subject-content and pedagogy.

Training Programmes
In our academic calendar, we have fixed days for training programs for teachers to upgrade their teaching skills. These include a wide range of functions including preparing evaluation & assessment frameworks, developing teaching and learning materials, growth as professional assessors and advancement of professional standards.

Central Board of Secondary Education
CBSE has introduced a number of steps for reforms in the school educational sector. The creation of an assessment paradigm that is diagnostic in nature generates essential feedback about each student and helps in the holistic growth of the learner. This is the backbone of the Continuous and Comprehensive Evaluation (CCE) system.

Comprehensive Continuous Evaluation
Continuous and Comprehensive Evaluation (CCE) introduced by CBSE in 2009, refers to a system of school-based assessment that covers all aspects of a student's development. An integral part of this revised scheme is the inclusion of both scholastic and co-scholastic elements such as Life Skills, Attitudes, Adolescent Education, Values and Co-curricular Activities. To ensure the implementation of CCE in letter and spirit, teachers and school leaders need to thoroughly understand and imbibe the CCE teaching and implementation methods to create lifelong learners.

We have conducted a number of workshops that were facilitated by empanelled agencies of the CBSE.  These interactions act as a professional development tool for teachers to help them gain expertise, get ‘CCE-ready’ and be able to contribute proactively in imparting a higher quality education. It is conducted by a team of trained professionals and vastly experienced teacher trainers. These subject experts are well versed in child psychology and possess immense hands-on experience for subject-specific sessions, specific-evaluation techniques, and designing & assessing innovative formative assessments.

Our school has been a pioneer in facilitating these exclusive workshops for subject-specific methodology/pedagogy in Languages, Mathematics, Science and Social Sciences.
