Our Teaching Methodology As a preferred international school in the region, our institution offers a unique learning pedagogy that is most advantageous to our learners. Our globally standardised curriculum allows expatriates the option of educating their children in a way that will prepare them for life in their home country; it also allows native students a chance to receive an international education that will groom them for work or further study abroad.
Our commitment towards quality education is of utmost importance. Over a passage of time, education has evolved and witnessed tremendous changes. A unidirectional teaching method has been increasingly substituted for an inquiry-based facilitation. Here the teacher is the facilitator, who nurtures pupils without the phobia of examinations and homework. Our school adopts various teaching aids and teaching methods which enable complete comprehension of concepts with relevant application. From early childhood through high school, the school employs a standards-based curriculum in which educators set attainable goals for learners to reach as benchmarks in their education. Our faculty adopts a thematic approach that establishes the foundation for lifelong learning through a structured inquiry into multiple academic disciplines.
Inquiry-Based Approach It is one of the main channels through which the curriculum is delivered that engages a learner to progress from his/her current level of understanding to a new and deeper level. In comparison with more traditional forms of teaching, inquiry emphasizes the process of learning in order to develop deep understanding in learners. The education process has a relevance and purpose as the pupils are encouraged to explore, gather, process, refine and present information. This approach allows the learners to take control of their learning and encourages them to develop critical thinking abilities like exploration, reflection, risk-taking and making informed choices.
Our teachers often tailor their instructions and adapt the content to pupils' needs rather than expecting students to modify themselves for the curriculum. The instructional activities are flexible, innovative and engaging. They are based and evaluated on content, process and product.
This innovative teaching practice draws out and works with students’ pre-existing understanding and makes learner ‘thinking’ visible and central to the erudition. It helps to retain the learner’s interest and develops challenging tasks for each one (be it the average student or the over-achiever). It has been observed that classroom tasks which are worthy of learners time and attention and are relevant as well as connected to the world, help enhance their understanding and intellectual interest.
Core Teaching Values Our teaching personnel are guided by four core values-:
Learning: Our faculty maintains a positive approach to learning and encourages it wholeheartedly.
Excellence: Our facilitators have high expectations of the students and themselves. We set lofty standards of excellence and strive to achieve them.
Equity: Our educators recognise the differing circumstances and needs of our pupils. We strive to create learning environments that are free of discrimination, abuse or exploitation.
Care: Our teachers treat all individuals with care. Our relationships are based on trust, mutual respect and the acceptance of responsibility.
